Bookweek 2010
The Heritage School will be holding a Bookweek starting the first week after half term, November 1st to 5th. During the week classes will be focusing on the topic of books. The younger classes will be looking at fairytales and traditional tales, whilst the older children will be learning about particular authors.
Author Visit
During the week Sheila Helliwell, an author from Larnaca, is coming to talk to all the classes about her books, how she became an author and the process of having her books published. Sheila will be in school on the Wednesday and Thursday and will be in the Hall at the end of each day signing copies of her books.
New Book Sale
After school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday a bookshop will be selling books in the Hall, a good percentage of the takings will be available for the school to buy books for the school library and some language games for the younger children.
Second Hand Book Sale
On the Friday there will be a second hand book sale so it is an opportunity to have a sort out during half term and bring along the books the children have outgrown and look for new ones too. This too will be held in the school hall.
We are all looking forward to a fun week and sharing our love of books and reading with the children.
