2009
As the weather appears to have now changed dramatically, the official date for students to attend school in full winter uniform is Monday 16 November 2009.
If any parents are unsure of the uniform policy for winter uniform and also P.E. kit, the school shop has all the details.
Please ensure that correct uniform is worn at all times. The uniform policy will be strictly adhered to, and parents will be notified if students do not conform.
FOTH is asking for all supporters to donate any Cyprus Pound small change or notes you may have laying around. As of next year, the Cypriot currency can no longer be changed to Euros and will be worthless. So please have a look around the house or office, put them in an envelope or bag, write your child’s name on it (to be included in the lucky Christmas draw), and hand them in to Mrs Julie’s Office. Proceeds will go to the Theotokos Foundation.
Thanks for your support!
The school's calendar dates have been posted to the FOTH website's Events page.
The September newsletter has been emailed to everyone on our mailing list. If you have not received it yet, you can download it here.
The school now has caps available for sale in the uniform shop.
Parents are kindly requested to ensure children apply sun cream before coming to school and also to bring a hat to be worn at play times and P.E. for protection against the strong sunlight. At the request of FOTH representatives, the school is currently investigating the possibility of a suitable hat becoming part of the summer uniform.
The school has now agreed to allow parents to openly trade unused items of uniform clothing. If you have any uniform, in good condition, which you feel may be of use to others then come along to the uniform swap/sale coffee morning. It is planned that the FOTH website will advertise uniform for sale/swap.
FOTH are asking for 10% of any profits arising from these sales as a donation towards FOTH fundraising efforts.
When approached by FOTH representatives about the possibility of installing more water coolers around the school, Dr. Kouris agreed that this was a very good idea, and has agreed to install a number of them around the school premises. The first of these has already been installed, with more to follow in the coming weeks.
We would like to thank Cedar Rose very much for their generous donation of €100 towards the water cooler project. This will certainly help to speed things along.
The school is planning to allocate three rooms to be used as "Sick Rooms" for those students who are feeling unwell. Although the school has no full-time nurse, more than five members of staff are already fully trained First Aiders.
After a great deal of fund raising effort, FOTH now has €2000 to dedicate to new playground equipment. Options for suitable equipment are currently being assessed, and it is hoped that the equipment will be installed over the summer break, ready for the pupils to enjoy when the new school year starts in September.
